FRANCIE:

“I struggled with reading!  I was 18 before I remember reading a book to the end, and I know what it feels like to, not be getting it.  I also know that reading changed my life. My career as an award winning entertainer and adjunct professor at California State University, Sacramento would not have happened if I had not found the love for reading.”

“With humorous stories, fun-engaging songs tied together with the threads of very real moments, I talk; I entertain; and I educate kids and adults.  I try to motivate kids that struggle with reading to not give up and keep on trying, inspire those that already love reading to continue with their efforts, and educate grown ups on the importance of reading aloud.  I present with enthusiasm and a passion born from real life experiences and the need to share those experiences with those willing to listen.“

"Park Avenue elementary school students were tapping their toes, clapping their hands and dancing with Francie Dillon on December 14th!  The school assembly was a magical time for approximately four hundred children.  Francie's joyful spirit, contagious smile and boundless energy captivated the hearts and minds of the first through fourth graders at Park Avenue.  Her magical way of storytelling along with her uplifitng songs was the perfect combination for these young people.  One of the favorite songs of the afternoon was "Ollie the Dog"!  Following the assembly students approached Francie and asked for her autograph.  She graciously and enthusiastically signed notebooks, pictures, and backpacks to the delight of the students.  Park Avenue says, "Thank you, Francie, for a fabulous assembly!"
